Part of an ID package created by Firehorse Studios (http://www.firehorse.net.au) for Australian community television station TVS, in which we see images of Sydney - its people and places - through the perspective of a fullscreen television-shaped wooden frame. At the time of posting this clip, the ID (which is still in use) essentially takes on the same form, with a rotating selection of 'people on the street' - this is the original selection (recorded c. November 2005).
TCN Channel 9 Sydney opened - September 16th, 1956 Bruce Gyngell is often credited as being the first person to ever appear on Australian television on 16 September 1956 when he spoke the words, "Good evening, and welcome to television". However, prior to the official opening announcement, there were various test transmissions showing a variety of content in which a number of people appeared before Gyngell. GTV Channel 9 Melbourne opened - January 19th, 1957 The opening two-hour variety show featured Bob and Dolly Dyer, Toni Lamond, Frank Sheldon, Ron Blaskett, Terry Dear and Lou Toppano's orchestra.

See the strings, and atriums, everything beating and bleeding. It's kind of funny - I spend almost every minute thinking about love. Being guided and divided by love - but I've never seen it. It's just a rumour, I come down, an afterglow - I wanna see it, in colour In the summer I can almost picture it - the sky is bursting, blushing, darkening, the shimmer on the water, your skin and my skin, the flowers. I sip the drink, I lie to you, I go to secret worlds. You call the car, you tell the truth, you pull me in. Are we blessed or cursed? Do we make love, or destroy it? That summer I wanted to ...
A collection of five IDs as used by Australian community television station TVS. The first ID is a short 10-seconder used before most programmes shown on the channel, the remaining four - which utilise the station logo in creative ways - function as graphics used to return to a programme following a sponsorship announcement/promotion break.

Featured here are the Dec 3rd 2013 TV News Reports on the analogue tv system shut down in Sydney from ABN 2 & ATN 7 as they were respectively identified when television in Sydney began for Channel 2 in September 1956 and Channel Seven on 2nd December 1956. It’s weird feeling nostalgic for a mode of TV system, analogue terrestrial broadcasting, as electronics has advanced so much since television began but for those who can remember, 40 & over, I guess it’s the passing of time and change and turning off what was ostensibly running since 1956 well, it’s a reminder of an era long gone and all the people and values that time period stood for up until about 2000. I love the quality of DVBT when its good and watching analogue on a plasma screen was the equivalent of watching a VHS video as...

Sydney Penny began doing commercials when she was just three years old. Those opportunities grew into higher-profile roles that included the ABC mini-series "The Thorn Birds", and "Pale Rider" with Clint Eastwood. Sydney was nominated for Emmy Awards for playing BJ Walker on "Santa Barbara", and as Julia Santos on "All My Children", where she became best known in the mid-90s. Sydney came to Wilmington as Azalea Festival Queen in 1999, and a few years later she and her husband Rob moved to the Port City. Now as a mom, wife, and business owner, Sydney Penny is a member of the community, and sharing stories with Jon about the people she's worked with and places she's been in her career.
